What ×͜× means in a Free Fire name
The mark reads like a face with crossed-out eyes and a small mouth, and players put it in front of a name as a sign of swagger. Its look depends on a combining character, U+035C, which sits between the two multiplication signs; some fonts draw the bridge lower or leave a gap. We have not tested how Free Fire draws it.
×͜× name style: how long each letter set is (checked 02/10/2026)
The mark takes three characters before the name even starts. We styled “Boy” in thirteen letter sets, counted each one and ran Unicode NFKC normalization to see if the set survives. Unicode 13.0.0 data, 2 October 2026:

| Letter set | Boy | Characters | UTF-16 units | After NFKC | In the game or app |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small caps | 3 | 3 | Kept as styled | Not tested yet | |
| Tiny capitals | 3 | 3 | Turns back into plain letters | Not tested yet | |
| Bold | 3 | 6 | Turns back into plain letters | Not tested yet | |
| Serif italic | 3 | 6 | Turns back into plain letters | Not tested yet | |
| Italic handwriting | 3 | 6 | Turns back into plain letters | Not tested yet | |
| Classic | 3 | 6 | Turns back into plain letters | Not tested yet | |
| Art | 3 | 6 | Turns back into plain letters | Not tested yet | |
| Sans | 3 | 6 | Turns back into plain letters | Not tested yet | |
| Fat letters | 3 | 3 | Kept as styled | Not tested yet | |
| Currency | 3 | 3 | Kept as styled | Not tested yet | |
| Wide font | 3 | 3 | Turns back into plain letters | Not tested yet | |
| Cute letters | 3 | 3 | Kept as styled | Not tested yet | |
| Circle | 3 | 3 | Turns back into plain letters | Not tested yet |
Characters counts the marks you see; UTF-16 units is how many length slots a name uses, because letters from the Unicode math sets and emoji take two units each. “Not tested yet” means we have not run the style in the game or app itself, so “Kept as styled” is a Unicode result, not a game result.

| Where | What we know | Checked in the app |

| Free Fire | Names are Unicode text. The blank Hangul filler U+3164 has been blocked since OB43 (our editorial notes), so no style in the Free Fire lists uses it. | Not tested yet |
| BGMI | The Indian release of PUBG Mobile. Frames and letter sets are ordinary Unicode characters; the table above shows which ones normalization changes. | Not tested yet |
| The Name field takes Unicode letters and symbols; the @username takes only letters, numbers, period and underscore. | Not tested yet | |
| Profile names do not allow symbols or unusual letters, so use styles in chat nicknames, bio and posts. | Not tested yet |

Letter sets vs symbols vs spacing, in three lines
- Letter sets are Unicode alphabets that look like fonts, such as bold, script or small caps; they replace the letters of the name.
- Symbols are marks placed around the name, such as ♡, ☠ or ◤; they add the mood without changing the letters.
- Spacing means blank characters between words; Free Fire has blocked the Hangul filler U+3164 since OB43, so use U+00A0 and check the rename preview.
×͜× nickname style FAQ
How do I copy an FF ID name with ×͜×?
Tap any chip on this page to copy it, then paste it into the rename box. The mark is three characters: U+00D7, U+035C and U+00D7.
What is the best FF name for a boy?
There is no single best name. A short word in one clean letter set, with ×͜× in front, is easy to read and uses fewer length slots than a long mix.
How do I design an FF name?
Pick one word, one letter set and one or two marks. Type your word in the styler above, check the character count on the chip, and test the name in the rename preview.
Why does the ×͜× mark look different on my phone?
The bridge is a combining character, and each font places it a little differently. If it looks wrong, try another letter set or another mark from the table.
