For a space inside a Free Fire name, or a name that looks empty, use the no-break space U+00A0. Our editorial notes, last checked in August 2026, record U+00A0 working as a blank in Free Fire names, while the Hangul filler U+3164 — the character many older guides still recommend — has been blocked in names since the OB43 update.

None of these symbols change under NFKC normalization, so a frame will not quietly disappear when the game saves your name. Why a Free Fire name gets rejected
- It is too long. Styled letters and emoji can use two units each, so a name that looks short may be over the limit. Swap bold letters for small caps or drop an emoji.
- A character is not allowed. Some blank and invisible characters are filtered, as U+3164 has been since OB43.
- The name is taken. Change one symbol or the frame rather than the whole name.
- A word is filtered. Names with offensive words are refused, and styled letters do not hide a word from the filter.

How do I type a space in my Free Fire name?
Copy the U+00A0 no-break space from the table above and paste it where you want the gap. Avoid U+3164, which has been blocked since OB43.
Can I use emoji in a Free Fire name?
Many emoji paste into the name box, but each one uses two units of the length limit. Symbols like ★ or 亗 give a similar look for half the space.
Why do some symbols show as boxes to other players?
Other players see boxes when their phone has no font for that character. The name is still saved correctly. Widely supported marks such as ★, ツ and 亗 show up on more devices than rare scripts.
Does changing my name cost anything?
Renaming usually needs a name change card or diamonds, and the cost can change between updates and events. Check the price shown in the rename screen before you confirm.
