How to change your name in Free Fire
Garena’s Free Fire support article on changing a nickname (last modified 16 February 2024, checked 13 September 2026) says the only ways to change the name are Diamonds or a Name Change Card, and gives these steps:
- Tap your profile picture in the top-left corner of the lobby.
- Tap the button next to your profile picture to open the profile.
- Tap the edit button next to your current nickname, paste or type the new name, and confirm.
The article does not list a Diamond price, and prices change with events, so read the cost on the confirm screen rather than trusting a number from a website. If you have a Name Change Card, it can be used instead of Diamonds.
How to change your name in BGMI with a Rename Card
Krafton’s BGMI Help Center answer “How do I change my name?” (checked 13 September 2026) says a nickname is changed with a Rename Card, which you can get for free or buy:
- Free: completing the Lv. 3 and Lv. 10 Progress Missions gives a Rename Card, and other missions or events may reward one.
- Paid: go to Shop → Treasures, where the Rename Card is listed.
- Limit: you can change your nickname once per day, and the card disappears after it is used.

Will styled letters survive the rename?
Usually yes, but not every character is safe. Garena’s own article advises avoiding special characters because not all of them display on every device. Our tests add two practical rules: frames such as 亗, ꧁꧂ and 『』 stay exactly as typed, while bold and script letters are compatibility characters that some systems fold back to plain letters and that use two units each.

Measured on 13 September 2026. The first three names are the safer builds for a paid rename. If you want a gap inside the name, Free Fire accepts the no-break space but blocks the Hangul filler; the nickname space style guide tests eleven blank characters, and the Free Fire nickname style page has names built for the game.
Ready-to-paste names built from safe letter sets
All of these use one-unit letter sets — small caps, currency, Japanese-look and look-alike letters — with a single frame, so they are good candidates for a rename you pay for.
